User Experience
User Experience (UX) is how a person feels when interfacing with a system. The system could be a website, a web application or desktop software and, in modern contexts, is generally denoted by some form of human computer interaction.
Don Norman on User Experience Design (Father of user experience)
I invented the term user experience design because i thought human interface and usability were too narrow. I wanted to cover all aspects of the person’s experience with the system including industrial design, the interface, graphics, the physical interaction and the manual.
User Experience theory according to experts :
1. User Experience design is the process used to determine what the experience will be like when a user interacts with your products - Laura Klein
2. User Experience is the art and science of generating positive emotions through products interactions - Tomer Sharon
3. User Experience design is a process for desigining systems that offer a great experience to users. - Justin Mifsud
4. Ux Design is a commitment to build products that are created with the customer in mind. It starts with studying who the customers are and what they need, and taking that information to provide products and services that improves the quality of people’s lives - Marieke McCloskey
User Experience Design :
User Experience Design (UX OR XD) is the process of enhancing users satisfaction with a products by improving the usability, accessibility and pleasure provided in the interaction with the products .
User Experience Designers:
Those who work on User Experience, study, research and evaluate how user feels about a system, looking at such things as easy of use, perception of the value of the system, utility, efficiency in performing task and so forth.
Importance of having a user experience in a company :
l It helps you figure out your goals : A big part of ux is discovery, this involve interviewing main stakeholders to learn about the project at hand.
l UX helps you figure out your targeted audience : once you have figured out your goals, then you can focus on your audience. The best way to do this isto research your customer base and create personas. Personas are fictional embodiments of the real people that use your website.
l User experience design helps with organization and content creation : By knowing your goals and your audience will allow you to figure out exactly what people are looking for when they visit your site. This information will influence both your site map and webpage structure.
l Helps you save money : by all the actions taken, your site can have a lasting impact. Making smart choices based off of research will give your website a longer life than others.

Methods of the UX process :
1. User profiles and personas: The first step in the process is getting to know your audience. This allows you to develop experiences that relate to the voice and emotions of your users.
2. Evaluation of the system: If a system already exists, evaluate its current state. Then report issues and suggest fixes based on their analysis of research data.
3. Interface testing: Conduct a study to compare the effectiveness and quality of experience of different user interfaces.
4. User surveys: Interview existing and potential users of the system to gain insight into what would be the most effective design. Because the user’s experience is subjective, the best way to directly obtain information is by studying and interacting with users.
5. Wire-frames and prototypes: Develop wire-frames (visual frameworks of a website) of different layouts and perhaps also interactive prototypes.
6. User flow diagram: Make a flow chart showing how users should move through a system.
7. Design Patterns: Patterns provide consistency and a way of finding the most effective “tool” for the job. With user interface design patterns, for example, picking the right UI elements (e.g. module tabs, breadcrumbs, slideshows) for certain tasks based on their effectiveness leads to better and more familiar experiences.
8. Site maps: Develop site maps (an organized list of pages on a website). This is an important step in proposing changes to the information architecture, which plays a key roll in the user experience.
9. Style Guides: Consistency is critical to designing a memorable user experience through a brand. Content style guides give writers and designers a framework in which to work when creating content and developing a design, and they also ensure that the brand and design elements align with the owner’s goals.
